YOUR NOSTALGIA, MY HELL

The good old days get better with each re-telling
of your heated spiel.
To most people they sound much too fun
to believe that they were real.

All the old times that fill you with
the warmth of how it had been then
I wish I’d be permitted to forget,
and never see this place again.

And I can’t count the people whom
I’d been glad to never see, away from here.
To be seen by them, and see them seeing me again,
had been my greatest fear.

These memories visit me by disappointment only;
don’t you know that it’s not been “then” since when
you began to use the word “ago”?

All you consist of anymore is same old stories to re-tell,
while not caring of the difference between
your nostalgia and my hell.
